The Soft Animals collection celebrates the poetry of life, femininity, and nature. Each print reflects a different facet of the female experience - tenderness, strength, softness, and introspection.
Resonance was inspired by the poem The Voice by Sara Teasdale - a meditation on the vast and ancient origins of the self. The poem speaks of atoms as old as stars, of cells dividing through millennia, of turquoise tropic seas and ancient rivers carrying the memory of all that came before. In the print, a nude woman stands with her eyes closed, listening - not just to the wave beside her, but to the echo of every ancestor, every civilisation, every forgotten life that flows through her. The stylised wave curving up from behind her becomes a symbol of that eternal current: the untold generations rising and falling, yet somehow still alive within us.
Bold and graphic, yet beautifully minimal, this print brings a modern, beachy aesthetic to any space—perfect for sea swimmers, thalassophiles, surfers, and lovers of poetry alike. Its clean lines and luminous palette make it an effortless statement piece for coastal homes, creative studios, or any room that craves a breath of fresh, salty air.
Each piece is hand-printed on Hereford paper, chosen for its exceptional quality and subtle texture, which brings a gentle depth to every printed line.
Each print is numbered and marked with Josie's maker's mark.
